  • We are experienced at working alongside clients to design and deliver support packages and interventions. 

  • We understand that change in any service  provision needs to be driven from within and will always ensure that you  have ownership of  both our support and the outcomes of it.

  • We have varied experience of providing support including intervention activity, service review and the development of supportive resources.

Service Review and Re-design.

Examples of our work include:

  • As a Head of Service, Kate designed, established and led the first Early Years and Childcare Service for Leicestershire County Council. 
  • As an Assistant Director of Children's Services, Kate designed and established the School Effectiveness, Performance and Commissioning Directorate for Rutland County Council. 
  • Kate led the development of capital investment strategies, securing multi-million pounds of capital funding for secondary, primary and early years provision.

B​est Practice Reviews.

Examples of our work include:

  • As a consultant with the 'Big Wide Talk', Kate undertook 'Best Practice Reviews' for Bristol Early Years Service and Islington Youth, Community and Early years Service, resulting in a menu of recommendations for improvement.
  • As a sector specialist for the Centre for Excellence and Outcomes (C4EO), Kate co-designed and led 'Best Practice Reviews' for Kent County Council,  Stoke Education Service and Lincolnshire Children Centre services.

Peer Review and Challenge.

Examples of our work include:

  • Kate co-designed, supported the implementation of and provided training for the East Midlands Sector led improvement scheme, including a programme of Local Authority Peer Challenge and Safeguarding Assurance visits.
  • Kate developed the Teaching School Peer Review Framework, working In partnership with Teaching School colleagues in the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Humber.

Evaluating Impact.

Examples of our work:

  • As a Sector Specialist for the Centre for Excellence and Outcomes (C4EO), Kate co-designed and led an 'impact evaluation project' for Wolverhampton Council resulting in proposals for structural and cultural re-design.
  • Kate supported Teaching Schools, Local Authorities and Multi Academy Trusts across the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Humber region, to successfully secure Strategic School Improvement Funding based on impact based proposals.

Delivering Action Learning Sets 

Examples of our work:

  • Supporting the establishment and operation of 'Action Learning Sets' for Local Authority leaders, supporting the development of proposals for efficiency savings.  
  • Facilitating 'Action Learning Sets' for Aspiring Headteacher's, supporting academic assignment tasks.

Developing Resources.


Examples of our work:

  • Kate has authored two editions of 'Assured Safeguarding' for Directors and Lead Members of Local Authority Children's Services.
  • Kate has written a plethora of good practice guides, tools and resources for Local Authorities, Early Years Practitioners and Teaching Schools. 
  • Kate has been published in national publications including Computing (Which), Practical Pre-School, Nursery World and Co-ordinate.
